This makes my pride somehow elated. And since we were having a group discussion that time, i wasn't able to get the whole story, and so decided to set a time to research on this.

A neuroscience research revealed that motherhood may actually rewire the brain of a woman. Craig Kinsley, a neuroscientist, explained that, in the late pregnancy, the neural pathways of hippocampus, the center of learning and memory were essentially remapped. This probably come partly from the experience of pregnancy and labor, when the levels of estrogen, cortisol and other hormones literally bathe the brain.

Pulitzer prize- winning journalist, Katherine Ellison, make headlines on her book, The Mother Brain: How Motherhood Makes Us Smarter" , which compels evidence in the context of new advances in brain research. She discovered positive ways in which having children changes the mothers brain to better.

The benefits discovered from this research may actually known before but not taken notice of because as a mother, we merely focus on the things that can make our children a better person rather on our personal growth, but the idea could be taken advantage to maximize our potential benefits.

The five brain-boosting benefits from motherhood: perception, efficiency, resiliency, motivation and emotional intelligence.

Perception: Our acuity is more enhanced during pregnancy with our baby actually remaps par of our brain—improving our ability to interpret new information.

Efficiency: Pregnancy and early motherhood enrich the brain, improving memory and setting a mother up for a lifetime of multitasking.

Resilience: Levels of oxytocin ascend on mothers which helps us resist stress clearing the way for improved learning.

Motivation: Our desire to protect and provide for their needs help mothers become more creative and competitive.

Emotional Intelligence: Motherhood makes women more emphatetic. The empathy skill is developed with our baby when we are trying to envisage information from his point of view.

When we were planning on my pregnancy Tony and I were discussing if i'm still going to work. Of course! was my reply. First, for practical reasons. Since we are not in our homeland and the opportunity to earn a higher income is in our hands why not take advantage. Secondly, for personal reason. I was thinking then, that if i will be a full time housewife and a mother my intellectual side will suffer and would somehow lessen my self-worthiness.

But when my first child was born, I've felt a whole change in me, not in physical sense but in spiritual sense.

The love for my child has bolstered my desire to be a better person, not just intellectually but as a whole being. I now find motherhood more challenging, as I crave for more ideas on how to mould my children according to God’s will, to have them feel our home a haven of love, the values needed to help him achieve their personal desires. Motherhood is a lifetime discovery…. a chain of brain stimulation. No doubt, it makes us smarter.

A Parent's Love

In our childhood days, we were often asked "What do you want to be when you grow up?", and then our parents would be proud for whatever answers we gave them. This is the ultimate desire of every parents......to see their children become the best person they can be.

Vivid memories of my childhood constantly appear in my mind. When i was young i always asked myself why do i have a different family from the others? Why do i have to be responsible when the other children are playing, doing the things a child should be? Call me weird or something, but would you believe, at an age of five, i was already conscious of our family problems. Every nitty gritty of my childhood are stored in my brain. I grew up in an environment where there is no room for mistake and the word of the elders cannot be broken no matter how unreasonably it is.
They always tell us that what they are doing are for our best interest. But my little mind cannot conjure up their idea of raising us. I always find myself envy of my friends who were able to get everything they ask, do whatever they want and have freedom to get their own preferences without trying so hard to obtain them.

As years passed by, slowly i understand the purpose of my parents. I realize, that though my parents are different from others, i feel so lucky and proud that they have given me the best things a parent could ever impart to their children... the moral values. They equipped us the most powerful shield to prepare ourselves to the challenges we may come across.

Our parents love is immeasurable. We may oftenly misunderstood them, but we can always be assured that no matter what we become, their love for us still remains.

Well, we can only understand the role of parents when we become one. This is the most difficult yet fulfilling task that the Lord God has ever assigned to humankind.

And for me..... this is only a beginning of a new chapter in my life.

"To all the parents in the world, we honor you"

The Joy of A Woman

What is the true joy of a woman?

In this modern age, women are now achievement-focused and more liberated. Gone were the days, where mom only stays at home raising her family. Now, in our materialistic world where money determines the value and worth of everything, women are brought out of the world to cope up with the socio-economic trends. What makes resumption of the traditional role by women even more unattainable, is the overall increasing educational and intellectual level of the society that demands women to be as much educated, in order to be able to establish a loving familial relationship--both with their husbands and their children. Also, the mere presence in a highly advanced society, too, requires increasing knowledge and awareness.

In our quest to live up to the lifestyle the world offer, our important roles and most crucial responsibilities are often neglected. Our attempt to escalate our social stature, deprive us on some of the greatest joys of being a woman.

During the first year of our marriage, our mindset were different. Coming from families whose income were just sufficient enough to sustain our needs, we are driven by our desire to not experience the hardships our parents had in order to meet ends. In so doing, having a baby was not our priority then as it would disrupt the plans we already setup and for fear that we cannot give him the comforts that we want him to have.

Fate test us, and much as we try to do everything for me not to conceive, a new life sprung up on my womb. The moment we felt the life inside me, our visions were changed. The amount of joy we felt was immeasurable. Realization came to us that no amount of wealth can surmount the joy that a baby can bring us.

But the happiness we felt did not continue. On my fifth month, the heart beat of the baby cannot be detected. We lost our first child, our treasure. We felt so devastated and thought why this has to happen? not when we already prepared our hearts and our minds to the joy of parenthood. And as a mother, the pain was even greater, a part of me was taken away. For in that short period of time God let me experienced to be a mother.

Yes, the wound will stay on hearts for the rest of our lives but we knew it was HIs own way of showing us that He has already made a plan ahead of us and that everything we aspire for will come according to His will.

Today, God blessed us two sons, Enzo (3years old) and Gian (7months old).

Our Lord God gave the woman the best gift that she can have. He has given us a great privilege of being procreator. He designed us specifically for this purpose.... a nurturer, value preserver, security provider, and lover of our children.

Motherhood is the most fulfilling career in a woman’s life? It is the true joy of a woman…..don't you think so?

A Leap to the Cyberworld

Tony, my husband, has been trying for sometime now to elevate our source of income through internet marketing. It had been the source of our argument daily, discouraging him not to believed in the flowery words of the so called "internet gurus", as i believed there is no such business that can give you a massive income instantly without investing huge amount of money. I become more aversed to the idea, after he had made mistakes on investing to a multilevel marketing which was proved to be scam.

Tony, is the type of person who doesn't easily give up, so he continue his quest, try to invest on some materials to accelerate his knowledge, keeping up his pace on the realms of web marketing. His perseverance paves....after a year he was able to set-up his own webbiz using his talent.

If i listen to him before..... if i wasn't so conservative, or should i say a pessimist...., i should have my own site right now and enjoying a passive income just like the other IMs are claiming. Instead of spending idle time on internet games, on reality shows, reading a novel why don't i take a leap to this new age craze.... the cyberworld.

Let' s face it. Our life evolves now into the world of internet. People are now taking advantage of the convenience the web brings. Shopping, education, entertainment..... almost 99% of the planet, are hooked in the cyberspace.

It's never too late... dont' you think so?

A Man of Faith

Last weekend was truly a remarkable experience for me and Tony. Couples for Christ, a religious communty we're into, set a Christian Life Program in the outlying island Cheung Chau. This is an intended course set by CFC in its quest for Total Human Liberation through the power of the holy spirit, and consists of 13 sessions, usually held once a week. Due to time constraints and demands from individual's work, a fast track session was set this weekend for those willing couples.

Two household groups were assisgned to be the service team, one of which is our group and were fortunate to have one of the first 16 who started CFC. , Mr. Manny Garcia. This guy really touched our hearts for every topic he discussed, it instilled in the core of our mind. He told us about his life, on his first foray to CFC up to the time he was able to bring his whole family into the works of this community. He was truly a God sent for us , as every person in the room was able to relate themselves with him.

He was like the lost sheep who found its way back and make a complete transformation in submission to Gods will. He dedicated his life towards evangelization and bring lights to those who are struggling to be a true Chistian .

And like Job in the Scripture, God put a test on Him, a test which is very difficult to surmise . by any human being . A terrible thing happened to his very precious child.... something which no one could ever imagine to happen to a person dedicated to his service for Him. For an anguish man who experienced a lot of emotional distressed and felt the pain her child had gone through, the only way he thought was to get even..... to retaliate. But to his astonishment, his child reminded him to be a true Christian....how could a child at her very young age could be able to understand those people ... those people who had nearly murdered her..... and be able to forgive them. These words awaken him....how can he be a true disciple of God, if he cannot live out the works of a true Christian. and from then on, he asked the Lord's forgiveness for his weaknesses and promised to help build a better world through evangelization.

There are times, when we feel that life falls apart and God is nowhere to be found. Every Chistian goes through it, usually several times . This feeling of abandonment or estrangement from God , is in fact a test of faith. Those unceasing trivials in our life is vital for the development of our faith. God actually does this purposely in order for Him to know how far we mature in relationship to Him. He wants to see in us how we trust Him, wants us to be dependent upon Him.

For the times when we feel solitude, God thus know about it, we may not know but He is present among us , physically. He uses someone who would give enlightenment and help in anyway he can for us to overcome whatever discomforts we are experiencing.

" For God has said, "I will never leave you; I will never abandon you." (Hebrews 13:5)

A Woman On Her Own Sense

Another year had passed in my life.....
